	System i AS400 Security Workshop
	This popular 3-Day class provides a comprehensive treatment of IBM System i (AS/400) security concepts along with practical instruction for implementing those concepts. This hands-on workshop is a mixture of classroom lecture and student hands-on exercises to reinforce the skills learned. It is designed for those responsible for system setup and administration, including system administrators, security officers, and technical support staff. It is also highly recommended for IT auditors. Prerequisites: A basic understanding of security systems. It is assumed that the students will have some understanding of the AS/400's overall architecture and utilities, although this is not a requirement.

	How to Audit the System i
	This course was especially developed for our friends at ISACA. It is geared toward the IT auditor with little or no AS/400 experience. This 2-day lecture/workshop course provides a brief introduction to the AS/400 and the System i technology. Then, in a methodical fashion, the course presentation proceeds into a comprehensive view of best practices for AS/400 security, and the methods you can use to verify compliance. User Account creation options and maintenance is discussed at length as is the system settings that make for a secure system. Database Access Control Lists, and other object and IFS permissions are examined in detail. User and event auditing and reporting are discussed. Audting and reporting of Network access through tools like ODBC, FTP, Remote command and file transfer are discussed in detail. The student will learn about the common vulnerabilities that exist on most AS/400s, and how to identify them. These vulnerabilities can be found when you know what to look for in your IT audit.

The Instructor - Dan Riehl

Security training for the IBM System i is presented by world renowned security expert Dan Riehl. Dan is an Audit and Security specialist for IT Security and Compliance Group. Previously Dan was the President and Founder of the PowerTech Group, the leading software provider for System i and AS/400 security and compliance.

Dan has been a technical editor and author for System iNEWS Magazine for over 20 years, where he writes articles related to System i (AS/400) security, compliance, programming and systems management. He also regularly teaches classes and seminars on System i (AS/400) security.

Dan is the editor and author of the System iNetwork Systems Management Newsletter that is published twice a month and has a readership of some 30,000 System i AS/400 admiinstrators.
